THE WELL

I wonder how many times the Samaritan woman went to the well to draw water, each day a repeat of the other, her mind on the task at hand but her heart hoping for more. Her life song that hasn’t been finished some how  missing the high notes.

Today she may have thought deep in her soul will be different, today something will change today my life will have meaning and purpose.

I wonder what her thoughts were as she drew water for Him the one who gives Living water to our dry thirsty souls. I wonder if she felt unclean knowing the one who knows ALL things has spoken to her of things unknown. I wonder if she wanted to flee but felt the need to stay and learn more. I wonder what we would have done had we been her. Would we had drawn water?  Or would we have retreated into our old pattern of life?

He who gives everlasting water is waiting at the well for you and I to draw or return what will our choice be? Let’s draw deep and thirst no more.
